6 reasons for frustration. What can you do about them?

Well hello again. I recently had a conversation with a friend about feeling frustrated with the situation around working from home. I have over the past year been talking about how it would be a dream of mine to just work from home and finish my projects and blog.

What a dream.

Then I started a blog.

I still don’t have complete direction other than personal growth. I have always been interested in personal growth for some reason and now it’s changing my life. I would love it for people to follow me and have the same revelations. I find it interesting though, how my thinking still gets in my way.

Is it ignorance?
Is it gullible or being naive?
Is it trust?
I talk about that in a previous post too. click here it view that post.

Why do I still get so frustrated with things or situations?

I uploaded a IGTV video on Instagram a moment of frustration. check it out here.

I decided to break it down into 6 main reasons frustrations can creep in and have a strategy for each one. So this way when I fall into one of them I will have something to fall back on right away and with practice it will become habitual.

Anger – when I must determine the degree of control I want or have. If I let a situation escalate into anger, it gets me nowhere.

Better to re look at what is happening, and allow yourself to take a breath and then figure out what emotion is really getting you down so you can change your mindset.

Playing the victim – its so much easier to place blame. If something is not going our way, we tend to want to blame the outside world or have some reason to let us off the hook. I do not want to feel like this, I am so frustrated with my house, job, car, whatever. Whose fault is it?

Putting things into perspective is key and knowing that things could always be worse.

Self doubt – when I do not accept the situation and I am upset that it did not go my way, I tend to avoid and become defiant, so to speak.

Better to try and become part of the solution in order to create success, increasing confidence, and relaxing about things that are not in my control.

Perfectionism – making the decision to do what you planned and practice, practice, practice. I have said this in previous posts. We cannot be perfect. Perfect is in the eye of the beholder. Honestly. If we continue to live our life in fear of failure how in the world are, we going to find growth and purpose? We will remain stagnant and negative. Personal growth is not supposed to feel good. It is supposed to feel a bit uncomfortable.

This is ongoing for me and therefore, I say practice, practice, practice. Every day try something new, and just show up.

Magnify problem
when I am looking for something and my bins of stuff is overwhelming, I might think “OMG, I am never going to find what I am looking for! My life sucks!” It is the generalizing that happens when something is not going your way. We broaden our thinking into something much bigger than it is. Not to downplay the problem. Some are catastrophic, I am referencing the internal frustrations we feel about ourselves and our own lives.

We need to breath, just breath.

I tend to panic when I have a lack of knowledge and that acceptance is hard to become of. So many emotions and thoughts come at once and I forget to breath. I love it when my boys recognize when I am down or elevated as they remind me to breath. I know that my own self awareness has helped them because I can say it out loud when the emotion is happening, it is the reaction that needs to change when negative. BREATHE

Hopefully, they start to take their own advice that I gave them. lol

Quitting – All I want to do is escape and not deal with the problem or situation. That is what I have done in the past every time I started to blog. I would get stuck and then quit, which then just escalates the frustration and then I feel like a failure because I quit. Part of this frustration is the fact my Internet is slow or computer is slow and uploading photos to share is so difficult.
My dad was not a quitter, and he always taught me to do what you love, do your best at whatever you do, if you complain about what you do, then change what you do.

Quitting is not an option. Always show up.

Yes, my past can have influence on how I am today. My genes and my environment in which I was surrounded also influenced who I am today. Self identity and awareness are key elements to personal growth in my opinion. I really had to take a deep look into why I was thinking the way |I did. I listened to many different opinions and went to therapy, thinking I was going for my son but was going for me. Learning the science behind the brain is also very informative.

Have you ever been frustrated? What did you do to get out of it?

Leave a comment and let me know. I am interested in hearing what you all have to say.
in the meantime, stay real, stay positive, never give up, cheers
